The purpose of this publication was to record the 50 years of operation of the Thermal Power Plant São Jerônimo located in Rio Grande do Sul that belongs to the Companhia de Geração Térmica de Energia Elétrica (CGTEE). The plant was the first one in the country to use crushed mineral coal as primary fuel and it was built under one of the first state electrification plans in Brazil. The pioneer project deeply marked the history of the region, as it is possible to see on the pages of this historical record.
