This book, illustrated with over 50 pictures, tells the story of coal-fired electricity generation in Candiota (RS), highlighting its importance to the city’s life in touching testimonials from engineers, technicians and workers who participated in the construction and assembly of the first plant, opened in 1961. The work provides basic information on the Candiota I and Candiota II projects, officially called Thermal Power Plant Presidente Médici, and the construction project of Candiota III.
